Well we talked about getting some bees, then went to Bee school for a day, found some equipment, ordered some bees and we are now officially bee keepers. There is so much to learn and these little creatures are so fascinating. Thanks to PerryBee for showing us this forum and hopefully all are questions will be answered.

    Welcome Richard and Linda.
You have found the best place to learn about your new hobby, soon to be your obsession, and you couldn't have a better mentor than Perry.
There are a bunch of folks here with about a million years of combined knowledge, and a willingness to share that knowledge with those of us with less experience.
Don't be afraid to ask questions, and participate here. We like to have fun and learn more about our bees.
    Again, Welcome!

Hey Richard and Linda. Thanks for sending those pics of you installing your bees.

A bit of a backgrouind folks. I met Richard and Linda at "Bee School", a fundraiser put on by a neighbouring beekeeper to raise money for the local food bank.
I went and had an enjoyable time, met lots of nice folks.
Towards the end of the school, there were small groups that went and looked inside some boxes that had bees in them. I remember at one point that there was one gentleman who took two stings to the head. My first thought was, "ooh, don't know if that will temper the enthusiasm a bit, maybe even cause a change of heart"?
A few days later I got a call from some folks that had been at the course saying they had a few questions, and might like to pick up a few things to help with their goal.
When they pulled into the yard I immediately recognized them.
Way to get right back on that horse Richard!
I'm sure you and Linda will be great stewards.

The only thing better than a parent-child partnership in beekeeping is a husband-wife team.
:hi:Glad to have you join us Richard and Linda. With Perry nearby, you've got a built in forum at hand. You can start off by reminding him that he "owes" you a slice of pie for those stings---if he says you didn't post the picture, tell him that he got his picture first hand.

Welcome Richard and Linda, from the Show Me State. I don't know if Perry knows more about bees or watching his wife shovel snow? and he picks on me for no reason. Jack
