Hello, my name is Hank, I'm retired and living the dream up in the northwoods. Last summer I started my adventures in bee keeping. I built 2 top bar hives over the course of the season and had pretty good results. I'm here to learn, so I'll have lots of questions and I'm looking forward to getting lots of good advice. I was on another forum last season but lost my password and have not been able to re-set it. I placed an order and will be receiving my bees by mid April, I'm ready to rock and roll.

Welcome Hank6 to the forum, just ask and we will try to answer and sad to say I don't know to much about top bars but heard they are hard to keep that way.

Hello Ken, Top bars are pretty user friendly, unfortunately I had a swarm in late August and lost my queen and a sizeable portion of my bees so I made no attempt to winter them. I made a lot of mistakes that first year, hopefully a few less this year.
