Hi everybody, in my second year of beekeeping, bought 2 split hives last year to start. Did great til that 1 last winter storm... not so good since. Had no food stores left, even though I took no honey and supplemented last fall and this spring. My fault, too sheltered of a location in a really wet year, moisture and insects seem to have finished them off once they were weakened. Live and learn. Have 2 new splits and a 3rd hive started w/ package bees in a better location now. All thriving, especially the package hive. Already drawn out the brood box and starting on the new super. Thanks in advance for all the info I'm sure to learn from the community.
