We have many helpful road signs in Texas. My favorite is "Guardrail Damage Ahead". I guess the purpose is to alert the driver to wait until the next guardrail to drive off the road.

Anyway, the road crew put this one up in front of our house. To paraphrase Treasure of the Sierra Madres, "Center stripe? Center stripe? I don't see no stinking center stripe!"

I see two stripes---one one each side of the center, which has no stripe---so I guess the sign is corect.
Next time the road crew comes by, Ask them to put up a road sign the notifies us "No Stop Sign Ahead"

Here in West Michigan, we have the informative sign: "Hill Blocks View"

They forgot to paint both sides of the highway yellow, that would leave a gray stripe in the middle. Jack
