    Probably needed for clearance when cultivators or belly mowers are mounted.

    It MAY be an aftermarket front axle. Designed to replace the tricycle.

    Maybe someone removed the "stop" and turned the steering wheel too many times. :rolling:

    Farmall H model with adjustable wheel base wide front axle. I think the axle can be installed other way round for short wheelbase and more conventional appearance. I have only seen the narrow front wheels like a tricycle and heard they could be tricky on downhill turns.
