    Welcome aboard Bee Boy! :hi:
A 16 week course must be pretty comprehensive.
I don't know if there is anyone that can teach you "everything you need to know", there is always stuff that crops up that you sometimes just have to muddle your way through.
If you come across anything that puzzles you, ask here, and we will do our best to help you out.
We are a friendly bunch so chime in if you want to have some fun and talk bees.

Welcome to the forum bee boy. Once your done with the 16 week class you'll have your instructors perspective on how to keep bees. which isn't a bad thing seen as he has been keeping bees in your area and know the climate and nectar flows and timing. But if you ask 10 beekeepers the same question you'll likely get 11 different answers. The point is don't get confused by conflicting answers. I know the more i learned about bees, the realization of how little I actually know.

Welcome Bee Boy. This is a great place to be a member. They have helped me so much its incredible.

BTW, I also live in central Arkansas. I'm not really a Yankee. Never lived farther north than Arkansas and Tennessee.

What part of central Arkansas? I am in Cabot.

hi beeboy, a warm hearty welcome to the forum!
building your own hives is rewarding......just don't get the handholds on your deeps and supers nailed and glued upside down or on the inside of the box........uuhhhh i have never done that of course, but i think many others have, so i will let them speak up!

btw, i think we would all like to talk to this guy:
" and the guy teaches you every thing you need to know."

    like tim said,
"kick your shoes off and sit a spell "

    again welcome!

It's not funny Had a guy that managed to screw up 5 supers in one day assembling supers. He wasn't the sharpest chisel.
