I'm keeping about 20 colonies in the North of Scotland, bravely putting up with the bad weather and the long winters here.
But when I get some honey then it's really nice stuff!

    Looking forward to the debates!

Welcome to the forum, DQ. :hi:

You may have plenty in common with the Tundra Division. I'm not sure if you will qualify for membership.

Do you know what Nova Scotia stands for ?

Welcome Dancing Queen got an Abba tune running in my head now. Having 20 hives it is not your 1st year, how many years have you been getting stung? if your looking for heated debates your on the wrong forum Iddee will take us out to the wood shed if we get out of line. No the members are a respectful eclectic mix of beekeepers of different levels experiences and abilities and we will rib one another but we love to laugh with you not at you.

    Thanks for all the welcomes!

For several years I kept about 8 to 10 hives, then had a bit of a gap whilst rearing a family, then started again about 5 years ago, slowly building up to looking after 20 colonies.

It's not that I am looking for heated debates, just with a billion dollar industry breathing down our necks those debates can hardly be avoided, for those of us who speak their minds.

Jim, we got more in common than just being Hoosiers then. I started tracing the genealogy on my dad's side and managed to make it all the way to 1647, Lower Scotland. I would probably have to visit to go any further, if records were even kept that well back that far.
