This spot has sun from about 7am-11am and from 3pm-6pm based on time of year. Above it is a tree that has some overlaying branches that provide shade during the hottest hours of the day ( allowing for some shade ), people don't usually walk within 10-15 feet of this area, and i'm hoping the tree will protect it from heavy rain or snow if needed. The downside is that wind is only blocked from one side as shown. However, i do have a bird bath and flowers near by and friut trees not to far away. My main concern would be cutting grass near it, do i let grass grow near it? I see pictures of others on cleanly cut grass so they can view the observation window. The main thing for me is that the bees are happy, thats what i want.
See attatchments for pictures, the one is word, the other a real photo with the red line where the hive will go the blue showing the shade tree outline.
