    How do you build a fire for smoke in this thing, see no where the top opens.

    You pull the ring, pull the pin, and flip the top.

    Ok I see, did not look real good at it, though it may be some kind of electronic means to produce the smoke, hey there is an idea, than one would never go out until the batteries went dead. Just to add my 2 cents here I do not like the spray button to kick the smoke out.

    There is a german smoker it has no bellows. To pump the air, it has a clock works wind up that runs a fan to force air thru the smoker. and an on off leaver on the wind up part.

    Interesting device for a smoker. There is something romantic about the smoker I use (bought in 1979-80). Low tech pleases me with the bees. :)

    I have seen pictures of those, might find out if they are still sold in Germany...
