How late in the year is too late to do a cutout? I have my name on a couple of swarm lists saying that I won't do cutouts, but I am getting 1 - 3 calls a week for hives in houses. The last guy wanted to know if I wanted the bees, if he exposed the hive. I told him if he found it in the next couple of weeks, I would be interested, thinking that much past that, it is really getting too late in the season, even with feeding all winter.

go get them, but you will need to feed all winter more than likely seeing as how far north you are. Bjorn would be a good one to answer that since he is your neck of the woods. I know he feeds fondant in winter, might try that.

If bjorn says it's too late, go get them and set them on top another hive with newspaper in between. "combine" If he says you have time, then you have time.
