How long does it take for a virgin queen to start laying?

    I have 2 nuc hives that the queens just hatched this past week (June 15). i was just wondering how long it normally takes for her to get mated and start laying?

    Subtract about 18 days from the hatch date for the graft date., so that put you seeing eggs around the 1st or so.

    Longer than you think. About the time you have given up and want to add more eggs she will surprise you. I think 3 weeks was my average last summer
