i am building migratory 6 hive pallets and i noticed a 1/8'' gap in the back. i know it will eventual get filled it but i hate to waste the bees resources! 1/8 to big? see second pic.

Those sure are some thick pallet clips.

Why worry about a 1/8" crack when the whole bottom is open!

Could you just nip those screws out and make a recess to drop the clip down into? If the bees fix it the box will be gunged up if or when you need to use it in another position.

I woulnt worry about the gap. They may or may not choose to propolize the gap. I have had hives that have went so far as to propolize the front entrances.

To me it look like you do not use bee pallet clips

You can get The original galvanized pallet clips at Dadant
Look like you and the bees will pay for all the $$$ you save. The bees making propolis and you scraping propolis but you can sell it. May be you can find a local for at
