Greetings from Central California (just south of San Francisco).

I just got my first bees ever in mid-June. They're doing well and we're enjoying the mild, somewhat cool summer this year, it's been much foggier than usual.

I've just got one hive, and it's growing fast. I'm hoping they don't swarm before winter.

I really enjoy this forum, lot's of good info and great people!

Pete

Hi Pete, and welcome aboard.
Most beginners, if they can afford it, start with two hives--this way they can "cover" for each other, particularly if anything happens to the queen.
We're all rooting for your success with bees.
