Went thru my only hive last weekend and was happy to see that they were going into spring mode. They still have a fair amount of candy left but seem to be bringing pollen in. Pictures to follow, but there is capped and uncapped baby bees and they have some amount of honey ( not sure if it real honey or the by product of the candy board ). It looked like there was a noticable amount of drone cells. So they are in a 5 frame with all the frames drawn out and just starting to make use of the comb. I did some " sample " marking of bees b-4 I marked the queen so my samples turned out with a nice yellow dot, and the queen ended up with a smear and racing stripes on her wings. So here are the pics I took any thoughts on what I should or should not do ?
