    Hi ,
I have a hive that I started from a nuc , about five weeks ago .
Today , I noticed about 50 bees walking on the ground in front of the Hive .
The hive sits about 3 feet off the ground on a deck .
Watching the bees , I have noticed a few of them "pooping " , not sure the proper bee term there .
It was yellow and a bit runny . Some of the bees fly off , some fly a couple feet .
I am new to beekeeping , so I don't know if this is normal , or not .
The hive has been growing great , gone from five frames to nine filled out completely with brood , pollen and honey . I just added a medium on top of the large , last week . I guess thats growing pretty good .

Anyway , is this normal ?

    Thanks

I would say it is somewhat normal. A new bee doesn't fly for about the first week. I would imagine she has to go pretty badly by that time. The consistency sounds correct.

Cleansing flights, no need to worry unless they are doing it inside of the hive.

Had a lot of problems with the other hive ,
I guess I am a little over cautious now

walking around on the ground isn't particularly good, but the numbers really not that great. Bees can and do get dysentary, but not usually this time of year, I would pay them a bit of attention for further symptoms larger numbers of bees.
