Could anyone tell me the standard measurements for a langstroth 5 frame nuc ? Also a 8 frame hive ? There are so many sizes just don't know what is the standard out side measurements. Thanks for the help. Larry
I dont have the exact measurements but any bee supply has the measurements in the catalog of the hives they sell, and as said above do a search of this sight..
Ok thanks I guess no one knows I have been doing a lot of searches but still looking for the standard dimensions. for a five frame nuc and a eight frame langstroth hive. I can find them from 7 1/2 wide to 9 inches wide. I know how long they are.
wife just reminded me I had a couple of 8 frame boxes on the back porch they measure 13.5 x 20 outside dimensions using 1by lumber of course the depth is the same as 10 frame stuff

I have two here that I bought from Mann Lake 4-5 years ago that measure 9-5/8 outside dimension, 3/4 inch sides.
Those that I built from the 'internet plans' ( 4 from one sheet of 1/2) measure 8-1/2 outside dimension.
The Mann Lake ones are EXTREMELY 'roomy', they could be 1/2 to 3/4" narrower.
{Also a 8 frame hive ?}
13-3/4 is what I make bottom boards for others using 8-frame equipment.
That would make it 12-1/4 inside.
