Yep, if you have a problem with something ask here in this forum and maybe someone will have an answer or can help you out.

What do you think about it?

Did you also notice the personal blogs everyone has??

With moving and everything I forgot all about that puter, sorry :)

I think at this point the thing to do is get what you need off of it and get the recovery disks. Do you remember if they came with the laptop or is there a "recovery partition"? Click the start button then "all programs" and look for "recovery manager". It could be under an HP folder in all programs too...

Have a look at this:

Not a problem on my part, Jenny getting a little frustrated but using Donna's apple.
Jenny has down loaded her pics and other stuff and says it is ready to go.

No recovery disk came with it and we did not down load the files to a disk.
No recovery manager couild be found.
It had several things locked up so I could not access them.
You had given me a link to where I could purchase the recovery disk from HP, not sure what I did with it, will have to look around.

Here's something I just ran across that you can try too:

To determine if the HP Recovery Manager is operational, press the power switch to turn on the computer, and then repeatedly press f11 during the startup. The computer will display a prompt to either recover the operating system or create a set of recovery discs if the Recovery Manager is operational which does not require the purchase of a replacement recovery disc.
Here's the link to your specific model:

Hey G3, nothing spectacular has come across the wires as far as a laptop goes...but I saw this today and it is a very impressive laptop for 379. Newegg is a solid company (I've ordered 1000's of dollars of stuff over the years)

Here's the link: Lenovo G555
