Letting bees clean burr comb or not?

Hi folks,
My bees are doing a great job of building comb, raising brood and storing honey but their technique, or perhaps mine, is a bit off and they make a lot of burr comb and fill it with honey.
I have read in some places to leave honey laden frames after extraction near the hives and they will clean it up. I’ve also read never to leave burr comb near the hive as it will invite hive thieves.
‘Should I leave this comb near my one hive for a few hours to let them repackage that honey or take it away from them immediately?

thanks.
