    Hi Folks,
I'm new to the forum and to beekeeping. I work for a religious non-profit community in central VA. We are giving our organic farm an overhaul which includes bees for pollination, and if I get my way honey too. Because we are non-profit we have to find every way we can save a dollar. So if any kind souls out there in bee land can offer donations to get us started, it would be a blessing. I took my first class this week and am psyched to get started! I want to retire as a bee farmer one day. I hate for my first post to bee begging, but I'm shameless . We have 2 bee suits, 1 hood, a smoker, 2 queen excluders and 3-4 med 10 frame boxes. In need of 10 frame deep brood boxes, hive tools, tops, bottoms, etc. Any donations accepted, postage paid. Om Shanti. - Dhira

It is better to teach a man to fish, rather than just give him a fish.

Do a search for top bar hive plans.
Collect old crates and scrap lumber from building sites.
Call local exterminators and ask them to call you when they have swarm calls.
You can start beekeeping VERY cheaply with a little thought and a lot of elbow grease.
