Making them stay, would this work?

As I'm sure you all know, last year I had a real late small swarm that just didn't make it... and being the kind of person that I am, I have been thinking about what I could have done better. Anyway, I got this crazy idea... I was thinking that if every time I got a swarm, if I simply took a frame of brood from an already well established hive and gave it to the swarm immediately, the brood would cause the swarm to stay and not abscond, and the extra bees would get them off to a running start. Clearly I must be missing the part about why this won't accomplish what I think it should... so can anybody point it out to me?

It will improve the odds. Nothing wrong with what you mention.

Keep a new swarm out of full sun. It is one of the things that will cause them to leave again.
