    "University of Minnesota Prof. Marla Spivak, who won a $500,000 MacArthur grant on Tuesday, broke ground by using a bee breeding approach to fight parasitic mites that can destroy hives."

    That is a good thing in my opinion. If she can move forward with the research and come up with some genetics or breeding program to defeat the mites would be a very good thing.

    they had a quite nice article in the most recent ABJ in regards to Mrs Spivak.
