Swarm call not too far from the house this time. Melissa called and said she had a swarm down low in a bush and they needed to get gone before the neighbor sprayed them. They were in a small tree on the fence between the houses. Melissa's brother (I think) saw my add on craigs list so she gave me a ring, her sister was afraid I would turn out to be the craigs list killer  . 001.JPG[/attachment:1kxsxnks] nice swarm of about 3 1/2 pounds just about head high. 002.JPG[/attachment:1kxsxnks] 003.JPG[/attachment:1kxsxnks] after trimming out the swarm, Melissa said the bush was a goner and I could butcher it up as I pleased. 004.JPG[/attachment:1kxsxnks] I held the branch and Melissa clipped it off with the loppers, she was fearless after watching me stick my hands into the swarm. I wanted her to hold the branch and get a pic of her but she refused. 006.JPG[/attachment:1kxsxnks] The girls are getting settled in. Just got back from picking them up after dark and think I got every bee!
Out of the eater came forth meat, and out of the strong came forth sweetness. A lion and honey. We should call you Sampson
There's nothing like a swarm to show people that happy bees need not be feared. You gave us a nice selection of pictures. Thanks.
