I see where we now have different levels of members ie: junior, senior, etc.
    I think it's fun but I have a question?
Should tec have a special designation like maybe "Ancient Member" or something like that?

GURU would be more becoming. Ole tec as young man probably forgot more about bee keeping than most will ever know. You couldnt get a better online mentor

Something like Distinctive Senior Member would be a proper title for Tec.

    tecumseh: "dead fish"
    riverrat: "GURU"
    marbees: "Distinctive Senior Member"

other than all the dictionary definitions about seniors.....perhaps tecumseh would be the senior ship in a battle group?

i have a SENIOR question, yesterday i was a member, today i am a senior member. i went from member, skipping junior to senior?
how are these designations of levels determined?

    ven·er·a·ble / ˈven(ə)rəbəl/

    Adjective:

Accorded a great deal of respect, esp. because of age, wisdom, or character: "a venerable statesman".

RiverB, it seems to have to do with the number of post a member has

thanks, i thought maybe it was a designation of being an 'old fart', and a senior in years
i am a senior in years, however i am not a 'curmudgeon'.
my father is a curmudgeon.....gee i hope this is not hereditary.....

    [h=3]Noun[/h]curmudgeon (plural curmudgeons)
    1. (archaic) A miser.
    2. An ill-tempered (and frequently old) person full of stubborn ideas or opinions. Generally passed on from one generation to the next.

thanks for pointing that out to me.....
see what you guys have to look forward to.....however i suspect i will not be the only curmudgeon here in a number of years when that hereditary stage kicks in....

I wonder what the average age of our members are? Mind you with tecumseh and Iddee on here the results would be so skewed as to be unuseable!

    perry it's already skewed,
i just looked up the definition for '"old goat":
"an elderly man who is disliked, especially for being mean to or disapproving of younger people. "

    i think i will stick with being a curmudgeon:grin:
