In regards to varroa mite counts in a monitor tray, what are the numbers folks go by in order to determine if treatment is needed?

I've been reading around other sources and everyone seems to have different numbers.

    Thanks.

That's because different size hives and different seasons mean different thresholds. 50 mites in April in a weak hive may mean a disaster waiting to happen. 50 mites in late Aug. in a booming hive may mean little to be concerned about.

Weekly checks that show increases should be treated.
