This falls under the quick and easy category. For a family gathering, I made a 12 cup tupperware bowl of mixed fruit. I used fresh pineapple, pear, mandarin oranges, whole pecans and sliced some banana right before serving. I mixed together 5 Tablespoons of honey with 1 tsp fresh lemon juice. I stirred the honey/lemon in with the fruit several hours in advance. I don't think you need to let it marinade, but it didn't hurt it. This was so delicious. The parents of the little kids, who were too excited to eat, managed to get the kids to eat the fruit. There were many seconds and someone went back for thirds, not that I was counting. Anyway, the bowl was empty at the end of the meal. I think any fruit combination would work, canned or fresh.
