I took a beekeeping class at the local community college a year ago. The man teaching the class is Robert Hughes. I took the advice he gave the class and joined a local beekeeping club. This turned out to be very sound advice. He has also been there for me every time I had a question. I bought my split from him this spring and had a successful first year(around here, even some old timers had a dismal year).

He told me that he was going to be on the TV news, but I didn't realize he was going to be in the Kansas City Star as well. Here is a link to the article. http://www.kansascity.com/news/neighbor ... 47069.html

Robert told me that he dressed the reporter and camera crew in bee suits. They were skeptical at first, but it became obvious that they were enjoying it and they all had their pictures taken in the suits holding a frame of bees.
