I would guess he is bigger than mine. My male is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches long, my female is about 2 inches long. They are quite prolific, tho. I just removed 101 young ones from their cage. "one spawn" They still have an unknown number I need to catch. Guessing 50 more.

I just caught 49 more. I now have 150 baby convicts in a 10 gallon tank. I think I am going to leave the rest in with the parents to see if they eat them when they lay more eggs. They are starting to stay in the container where they laid last time, so I may have more eggs within a week or so.

Charles, you should get a mate for yours. They are a blast watching them herd the babies around the tank. They are as protective as a mama hen. They stay right with the babies 24/7, and keep them in one group, never letting any stray. They also fan the gravel to wash up the hidden food and the young rush in to eat, just like a mama chicken scratches the dirt.
