    Hello everyone!

We got our first honey bees this past Sunday and they're still settling into their new home. We're total newbies to this, so the learning curve is steep despite all the research we've done. Anyone have any advice on getting rid of ANTS? We have little ones in the hive already as they've been attracted by the sugar syrup we sprayed in their for the ladies.

    A couple of options:
Place the legs of your TBH in cans (coffee, etc.) and fill with water.
Smear a 1" ring of grease around each leg about 6" high.
The bees will deal with what's already in the hive.

By the way I see this is your first post.

I see you are from the Island. I was born and raised in the Okanogan Valley (Vernon) and lived in Burnaby until 2002 when we moved to Nova Scotia.
I still have family in Nanaimo.
