That's a lot of work right there in those pictures.
40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup.
The German keep that gave me a couple bottles of Apple mead dropped off almost 2 litres of Maple syrup last week.
I would hate to think about that would have cost me at the store. This stuff is expensive up here!
    Well done Don!

Perry, did those leaf bottles catch your eye? Don, absolutely magnificent! Presentation is top score! A friend of mine brought some maple syrup over as a gift. I love it. I had the same epiphany I had when I tried "real" honey for the first time. I thought to myself, what the heck have I been eating in those alleged pancake syrup bottles all these years? He brought me a dark batch. He told me why it was dark but I forget why now. Hope your arm issues clear up fast so you can get back at it.

Seriously what would it cost to ship me a large bottle. Zip 27410.
Maybe a second bottle for Iddee , I'll pay full cost.

would the bottle fit in a flat rate priority mail box? Size of the box will answer. Zip 76134. I'll mail you some fishbags to seal the bottles in to leak proof for mine and any others, I have about 900 on a roll here.

If anyone seriously wants to buy some Maple Syrup send me a Private Message and I'll figure out the Shipping. I have to mail 2 bottles to my Cousin in WY so I'll look into the shipping...

The folks here have all helped me out a lot and have always been nice so I don't mind keeping some aside, actually HIDING some for you's. Everyone I know that has tried it wants more and I could sell every bottle BUT I'm stashing my years supply and a bottle for anyone here that really wants some.

The faucet turned on yesterday here...Here's a Video I am getting a ton of sap right now...hope it lasts another week and a half until my Surgery!

    Video at the end...

blueblood... one group of words... http://mapletrader.com/community/

They are ALMOST as nice as the folks here...

Just saw the "tapper" forum. There really is a forum for every passion. Read some Indiana posts and saw where one guy found a dead squirrel in his tap bucket...ha! I like the "magic bottle." Hope all goes well with surgery and recovery.

You've got a very impressive operation going there Don. And the videos and pictures are something you can be proud of. I'm speechless. That surgeon who'se going to work on your arm should see these before he goes to work on you--then he''ll know just what an important job he has to do taking care of your arm.
Maple syrup should help you get better in no time.

    Thanks everyone!

I made an address list of everyone who sent me a PM for a bottle and in my down time after surgery I'll get it all shipped out!

River rat sent me over here since you started a thread on this. So I've got a question exactly how do the pans work? Been thinking about building an evaporator this summer and I have two problems the evaporators are sky high and the used ones for sale are way north of me.

Yes thanks this helps out a lot gives me some idea of what I'm aiming for with the pans. Know a guy that does flat pans but the syrup normally comes out really dark. I would say it is the sap but some guys a little further south do it and it has a really light amber color. So I hope if I can pull this off right I'll get the really light stuff also.
