Hope all comes out well for you people on the East coast. Never been in a hurricane, but have seen what a tornado can do. Keep safe, and may God be with you. Jack

I've been in both. I'll take 3 'canes before 1 tornado.
Thanks for the thoughts. This one shouldn't be too bad. Only a 3 or 4, mostly at and off the coast. Plenty of time to prepare. Not like a tornado, with seconds to run.

We saw a category 1 not too long after moving out here...I despise them! Jack think tornado spawning thunderstorm that just sits and brews over you for hours and hours on end....driving rain and hail in pulsating waves, with steady winds that gust upward from time to time but never die away until the storm passes. We don't mind losing power, or even being cooped up inside, but the non stop screaming wind I hate...and sideways rain is just creepy to me. Have a little bit of time to get ready for them is the ONLY benefit to hurricane vs. tornado!
