New foundation

    Can anyone tell me how long should it take for a new package of bees to have capped brood on new foundation I'm new at this thanks

    Impossible to guess, there are too many variables. Every couple three days open the hive and look. The queen will lay in comb that is fairly shallow and the bees will build the walls up from there. It's an amazing sight, watch and learn. :)

    Welcome JosephCarboni to the forum, where are your location depends a lot at this time of year, most time they will really get busy and can build the comb in no time.

    I'm located 30 miles east of baton Rouge louisiana

    Where you are at it will take only a couple days, with your rain like I am having I would be feeding a 1 to 1 sugar syrup so they will build up, for they cannot forge for food in heavy rains, even if not raining you should still feed until they get 6 or seven frames built up.
