I have recently built my hive back in April and I had a friend catch a swarm for me in May. The colony was a strong one and has been doing well. I started with one super and I have recently added another in July. I was fortunate to locate some used equipment and this has helped to keep my initial cost down. I hope to split the hive in the spring. :D

Glad to see you back. How did your hive winter?

It did great. I had to add a pollen patty because the hive was just started in May of 08, but the bee are doing great since the days have warmed. I am in the process of changing another hive that I built, to a TBH. I have removed the foundation and modified the top to the frames. I have also changed the color from white to carolina blue and light green. Also, this is a wonderful site with alot of great information. Thanks.
