Hello:
My wife (Eileen) and I (Paul) live in Franklin Township on the southeast side of Indianapolis. We live on 5 acres, most of which is for hay. I am a retired high school English teacher and licensed high school principal. Although I am 57, I still wanted to "hang it up" for keeps. I restore antique British roadsters (Jaguars, MG's) and 1940's Buicks. My wife works for the Federal Government. She is an Indiana certified master gardener. We have 11 house cats and one Cocker Spaniel named Blackie.
My other hobbies are fishing, collecting vinyl albums, restoring 1970's turntables, receivers and tape decks. We began bee keeping last year.

I hope y'all will welcome us!

Paul

Welcome to the forum. :hi:

With your background, I'll make extra sure my English grammar is more gooder than it usually is. :D

In past weak moments I've owned a Triumph and a big Healey. Bee stings are a joy compared to my life with the 100/6.

Hello Paul and Eileen!

Always nice to meet fellow Hoosier beekeepers!

Are you involved with a bee club? Depending on where you are in Franklin, the closest may be Mooresville (http://www.whitelickbeekeepers.org/) or maybe Nashville (http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/10oclockbeeline/). I'm in the latter group, as well as the State Association (http://www.hoosierbuzz.com/).

Are you aware that the Heartland Apicultural Society (HAS) is meeting in Indiana this summer in Vincennes? Gonna be a great meeting:

Glad to have you here!
