    Hey guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. This is my first year beekeeping and I am super excited. I may have been a little overzealous this year but my friend and I built 2 of our own Warré style hive this year and installed top bar nucs into the hive about a week ago now. The hives have been doing great.

I hope some of you guys have some experience with Warré style hives because I'll definitely have some questions. Many have advised us not to start are first year with this style of hive but we ignored them. Also, these two hives we have are in north city St. Louis in empty lots!

    Great to meet you all,

    Jake

Here is some pics of the hive.

    Welcome to the forum.

I don't know about your climate. In my damp climate, I would want to raise the floor by battens off the concrete blocks. I would be afraid of a damp floor for bee health and wood rotting. Your concrete blocks could act as a ladder for pests to climb to the hive.
