New beekeeper here(bee virgin as I like to call myself:grin:) from Methow Valley in WA state. We received our package of bees first week of May and it appears to be going just fine even though we just had another frost a couple nights ago. I haven't seen the queen yet and I am hoping she is doing just fine. 2nd hive body on and they are drawing out comb. We have been feeding sugar water routinely because it has been on the cooler side. Thanks for all the info here..very helpful! Halley

Welcome to the forum Halley. Wow! Frost in June. We could use some of that coolness here.

Thanks for the very warm welcome...received my first sting of the season today..took some sugar water out and one of the girls zapped me on the wrist(like right by the very sensitive pulse area) Was like being baptized! I have Sting Stop(after putting a copper penny on it..may be an old wive's tale but I did it anyway) which has Citronella, Eucalyptus, Echinacea... and no swelling:) Hurrah! We were down to below 40 degrees last night again...I think we are the only area of the nation not to have heat. The girls are working hard though! Just want them to make it through the first year.
