OK, I don't understand when you would use a Nuc verses a deep or medium. Is the nuc just easier to handle or is there a real advantage. If I want to make some swarm traps is the nuc the best way to go. If any of you could shed some light on this I would really appreciate.

Nucs are for bee breeders. Hive bodies are for beekeepers.
Many times they are interchangeable, but for most newbies, nucs are not the best thing. That may differ in areas where small hive beetles are found. In those areas, you want to keep the box small enough for the amount of bees present to be able to defend it.
