Last year I noticed that the bees on the farm were bringing back black and purple pollen and found out they were getting it from poppies so I planted a bunch at home for the two hives there. they sure love them...

Terriffic pictures :coolphotos: How did you manage to get your girls to hold still long enough for those clear shots?
Earlier this year I had my girls collecting black pollen from the Anemones (Anemone coronaria) in my garden, but my camera couldn't get such sharp shots. DSC00983.jpg

    Thanks for the comments everyone!

Efmesch, I'm a wildlife photographer so I have a nice set up that allows me to capture them in flight as long as I have the light. That was also the best out of about 200 shots taken.

Mark, you point out another one of the great things about the digital age----how many people could allow themslves to take 200 shots on one topic--and then wait for the pictures to be developed and printed AND PAID FOR in order to get to the stage of selecting the best?
What make camera and what lense do you use?

I have a canon 60D. The lens I used for those shots was a Canon 28mm to 135mm macro/zoom. True, you could never do that with film. That would cost a fortune!
