Our pretty NWCarnolian Queens and brood

    Just added second deep on our 3 package hives(installed 4/19)...Started them on small cell foundation and the Queens are drawing it out just fine. The girlies are bringing in all sorts of pollen...notice the red on the left and the lupine pollen. Here are a couple of photos(I think they are such gorgeous Queens) Anyone else have NWCarnies?.. We are in north central WA state and hoping they do better in our cold winters.

    What a gourges looking queen I have always had a liking for the dark girls. The brood pattern is really good. What is the purple flower the bees are into and the source of the dark orange pollen? Thank for the pictures.

    The flower is lupine and the orange pollen is also from the lupine!
