One more.... Can I use linseed oil over old barn lumber safely on a hive?

BEHR does not recomend the use of any interior paint for external application. External paint has fungicide and better UV stability. I tried using an interior primer on my porch with an external top coat, and it all washed away in the first summer rain.

I also recomend a nice resin they've used them on wood boats for hundreds of years. Check with your local marina.

Interesting, I've used interior paint (not primer) as a base under exterior paint before without a problem. But I've also used all the right stuff and had problems :( .

I see no reason why not. Not sure how long it will last.
