Proventriculus -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So what is the Proventriculus ? What is its function? the 'Honey stopper' is another name for this organ. This is a valve which divides the Crop/Honey sac from the ventriculus (bee stomach). It's function is to regulate the passage of food from the crop into the stomach and to stop any nectar in the crop for the hive being passed into the stomach. Pollen is filtered into the four corner pouches forming a 'bolus' which is then passed into the stomach. The last two slides are from a professionally made slide of the contents of the bees internal organs, they are not my work. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Another great presentation. Thanks Maybe Charles can add to the number of attachments you can do at once. The 3 limit is to prevent abuse, but I think we can adjust that for individuals. How about it, Charles?
Thanks Bcrazy, an excellent, informative post. Sorry about the limit of 3, when I rebuilt the board I forgot to change this. The limit has been set to 15 rather than 3 on attachments. I think that should cover it.
