    Perhaps we should have a thread on stuff we learned that maybe we didn't have to have learned the hard way, had we only asked. Some of us aren't even smart enough to know what we don't know.:lol: (No Rumsfeld jokes, please)

    Why should you not mix the old dry camp feeding sugar & cinnamon from the winter in your spring syrup feeders?


    Because the cinnamon-- used for ant control and benign to the bees when dry-- forms a nasty gel that will stop up any internal (Kelly) or external (Boardman) jar feeders so that the bees can't eat.
