Queen cups?

    re these queen cups or drone cups? This is new comb from a packaged of bees at day 14. I saw the queen and she was laying eggs.

    That is a queen cup. Does it have a larva in it? If so, it is a queen cell. Many new packages will build queen cups and leave them empty.

    Thanks Iddee! Thats what I figured. No there were not any eggs on that comb. They built that flap of comb off of the foundation and I watched the queen walk on it but the cells were so shallow she would not lay in them. I got the package form Wolf Creek in TN and am very please with their progress in 14 days.
