I have a question how long from the time that a new queen emerges from her cell to when she has mated and begins laying? I want to have and idea so I do not disrupted the hive system. I want to give them enough time to do what they do. Thanks my BK masters

I usually wait about 2 weeks from when I think the new queen hatched. then check for eggs. If none I wait another week. Make sure you are gentle when checking and spend the least amount of time to look as possible. Keep in mind in our area there has not been a big window for queens to mate due to the weather. Im hearing from a lot of keeps sayings hives are ending up without a laying queen after a swarm and heard of a lot of the secondary swarms ending up without a laying queen. I got an afterswarm now im going to check today that I picked up 3 weeks ago to see if she is laying,

I think the 'magic' number is 16 days.
