I had not heard of this either. From the research I have been reading, CCD is believed to possibly be brought on by the ingestion and buildup of pollen and nectar from plants that have been treated with systemic pesticides causing disorientation and death. Colonies which feed mainly on monoculture crops where these pesticides are primarily used appear to have more trouble than others. As far as I know, a virus has not been found to be the main cause of CCD or it would have been evident with numerous dead bees within the colony. CCD colonies on the other hand are being found completley devoid of bees. They never return to the hive. The product may be proven helpful against a virus found in bees, but I'm not certain how it would be useful in preventing death caused by the intake of systemic pesticides.
