Perry, if you will allow me to piggy back on your link, I think there will always be those who live among us who(m) can never really be 'civilized'. There is a basic self-first element in us all, but some will never or can never really control it to live in a civilized society. Our society depends on us all living on the planet at the same time. That means we all have to give a little in order to progress. Some among us give their all, and some take from us. :-/
well stated lee.....
On that "other" forum, there were posts about a rash of stolen hives in Mississippi and Florida the past few months. It's a shame. Hopefully they'll nab the thieves.
Another indicator of how our society is degenerating. Down here in my part of the world, I was recently reading where some (expletive deleted) was stealing the brass flag holders off of veterans graves in cemeteries to sell them for scrap.
We like to think that bee keeping attracts individuals that are caring and honest, and spiritually connected to nature. Unfortunately that is not always the case. Just like there is always that one bee that will fly up and tag you, when all the others are perfectly calm, there will always be some objectionable people even among bee keepers. I see this at the bee club meetings. There are always a couple of individuals that are just plain inconsiderate, carrying on loud private conversations when someone is trying to make a presentation, etc.
I met one of the not caring and honest looking for a quick buck from some bees guys yesterday. Have reason to be grateful for EFB, he knows my hives have.
