One of my little ladies is "Miss May" in the 2010 Bee Culture calendar! I thought it was even nicer since she was kind of raggedy-winged. Obviously a dedicated worker.
Great picture. Curiousity....when you send them a photo, do you lose the right to have it submitted elsewhere. Are you allowed to use it elsewhere, like in a website? I'm not talking here on the forum but another private website?
Great pic, it tok me a few minutes to figure out what she was sitting on. Very nice indeed and congrats. G3
Thank you for the compliments! I was pleasantly surprised by how the photo came out. I had a few more similar photos, with marigolds and other flowers in the background, but this one turned out best Some others have asked what the heck she is sitting on. It's a carved wooden honey dipper, made by a craftsman in Ithaca, NY. As for rights to the photo, as I understand it, Bee Culture has the right to use it anywhere they want, but I do not lose my right to use it.
Fantastic photo Hobie! Congrats on getting it published, as far as I know it's exactly as you said as far as copyright goes. Bee Culture can use it but I think they still have to give you credit and you can do anything you wish with it too...
