I just realized another $$$ value of beards: If you let them grow long enough, you can use them to replace torn hairs in your fiddle's bow.

And yet one more great idea, when I start to lose the hair on top of my head, instead of buying a toupee, I can just do a real nice comb-over! Think of the dollars saved there!

I don't play the fiddle (my dad does) and I've never had a beard, but I used to have hair and I have been known to play the guitar. :)

1996 I used to own a nightclub and played in the house band there on the weekends.

Where I work can get up to 135F with a lot of rotating machinery, so long hair is impractical (plus it started turning gray :( )

i totally agree with PerryBee about the cost savings by not shaving....that pack of 12 lasts about a year for me.1 a month  i have been thinking about trying to find a straight razor and cut costs even further.

also, another cost saver....2 haircuts a year.think about how much you can save that way.yea shure you get to looking pretty woolly but think how much you could spend on bees then

disclaimer: i am not married so, you married folk may be out of luck with T.J.'s cost saving plans :rotfl:

TJ, it's just a matter of finding the right girl. Forget the out of luck on saving, When you find that right girl, she's well worth the expenses that come with her.
With the right one, you'll never regret the trade-off. :D

Agree with you brother Perry. I haven't been clean shaven since 1989.

An old gray haired, bearded man once told me that as you age, your hair grows deeper into your head. If it hits brain, it turns gray, if it doesn't, it dies and falls out.

Sometimes I think beards are grown to compensate for the hair missing up above. :eek:ldtimer:
Omie, it's good to see you out of your bee(keeper) garb. :D
