Is this the larva? Found these on one frame in a hive that was a package. I didn't think wee had them in CT. They are in a frame of some old capped honey. The bees seemed to be either cleaning out the honey or the larva. I pulled the frame and put it into the freezer.

GA, I thought that could be the case. I hope it won't be a problem for me. Another reason to only get local bees.

I'm sure the folks in Ga. are glad to get rid of that many, anyway, and likely would be willing to send you many more.

just wanted to say, good eye dave for a new keep!

brendan, that's how they get to wisconsin, and as iddee said: "I'm sure the folks in Ga. are glad to get rid of that many, anyway, and likely would be willing to send you many more."

also where the package bees came from: "GA, I thought that could be the case. I hope it won't be a problem for me. Another reason to only get local bees."

depends on where those local bees have been brendan, if you are buying packages, nucs, or hives from a keep who sends their bees south, you may encounter the problem again.
