First yearbeek and thinking ahead to spring. I currently have two deeps with a super on top. Haven't taken any honey and treated oav so I should be strong coming out of winter. In my area of N. Calif the main flow is almonds. That occurs in mid Feb to end of March. Temps sometimes get down to 29 degrees F and up to 58 degrees F during the day with rain tossed in. My question is that I would like to split to one deep each with a super on top but my concern is the temperatures might be too cold. April is probably the ideal time by then the almonds are gone and fruit trees and flowers start blooming and the main flow is over and they might swarm. Any suggestions fellow beeks.
