Dann Purvis has a very good reputation in the bee world, so I will believe him when he says he raises every queen he sells. I would imagine he bought a few high dollar breeder queens to make crosses with his stock and sell the resulting genetics. Someone knew of the purchase and made up the idea he was reselling them. I don't think anyone is buying 100, 200, or 300 dollar queens and reselling them for 20 dollars or so.
